Water Act 1912 licences

Has your licence been converted?

From the 1st July 2004, Water Act 1912 licences and authorities are being converted to water access licences and approvals under the Water Management Act 2000. This is occurring in those water sources covered by an operational water sharing plan.

By entering your Water Act 1912 licence number below and pressing the search button, you will be able to view the water access licences and approvals that have been created. Those which display a WAL number have been loaded into the Water Access Licence Register held by LPI. Those water access licences that do not display a WAL number are still to have their licence details confirmed and completed.
